King and Queen Historical Society(804)769-3355. Founded in 1953, the King & Queen Historical Society's purpose is to collect and preserve King and Queen historic documents and artifacts; promote the recording of County history; restore, preserve, and mark historic sites; and educate our students and the public about King and Queen history. One of the Society's major projects is the developoment and operation of the Courthouse Tavern Museum. Meetings are held quarterly on the fourth Sunday of January, April, July, and October; new members are welcome. Annual dues are payable July 1 and are as follows: $ 15.00 per year for an individual, $ 20.00 per year for a couple, $ 300.00 for an individual Life Membership, and $ 400.00 for Life Membership for a couple.
